Tips For Choosing The Best Neckline
Are You A V Or Round Neck?
The shape of your face is either complimented or somewhat insulted by the neckline you choose to wear.
I bet you heard that a V-neckline is universally flattering. I’m sorry to tell you, that no, a V-neckline is not flattering for every woman. Yes, it can make the neck look longer, and seemingly elongate your body, yet a V-neckline may not be right for you.
For instance, if you have a long face, then wear rounder necklines, to balance out your facial proportions.
A V-neck will make you feel and look like Big Bird if you have a very long neck. Wear a softer and rounder neckline, and you will look as graceful as a ballerina.
I once had a client who was so upset about her double chin, that she strongly considered getting cosmetic surgery to even out her proportions. She only saw her jawline as the trouble spot and was focused on it each time she looked at her reflection.
That was, until I showed her, in less than 30 seconds, how to visually reduce the appearance of her chin area, simply by changing her neckline. I gave her a V-neck top to put on, instead of a round neck, which by the way was practically all she had, and her mouth opened wide in amazement.
Her double chin seemed to have disappeared, as well as those lines that form around our necks as we age that resemble the rings in a tree stump. Lovely visual isn’t it?
The V-neck diminished her chin issue because her neckline was no longer drawing attention to the roundness of her face. This is a simple, quick, and inexpensive solution to stop you from pulling back the skin around your chin when you check yourself out in the mirror, and don’t deny that you do that.
Note: My clients learn which of the many available necklines and proportions are right for them, but if you follow the above advice you will be off to a good start on whether a v or round neck is best for you.
