Have Your Contents Shifted Too?

Have you ever heard a flight attendant ask passengers to be cautious when opening the overhead compartments because the contents may have shifted during the flight?
When I heard this on a trip to work with a client in another state, I immediately knew it was the best way to explain how, one day, when I was around 40, I went to bed thinking I looked good in my clothes and was content with my body.
However, the next morning, I woke up with rolls, bumps, and bubbles that I swear weren’t there the night before.
The jeans and T-shirt I wore so well the day before now made me look old and out of shape.
What happened????
Have Your Contents Shifted Too?
Ladies, I am sorry to report that no matter how hard you exercise or how well you eat, our contents have shifted as we fly through life.
This is not a cause to grab an oxygen mask because you may now be hyperventilating. It just means a few changes are needed to accommodate our shift.
If rolls are obvious, wear clothes that disguise and cover them. If the shirt and pants you wore so well before now expose ruffles and ridges at your waist and/or thighs, get them out of your closet. Replace them with clothes that lay over the troublesome spots instead of clinging for dear life.
To keep this simple, consider this:
If you put on a piece of clothing and parts of it are holding on as tight as a one-year-old with separation anxiety, then stop wearing it.
Do this instead:
-
Go for a larger size or a looser fit, because clothes that are too small simply make us look bigger.
-
Stop beating yourself up over the inevitable change after turning 40.
Remember, you don’t have to change yourself…Just change the clothes you’ve been wearing.
