Tropical Vacation Packing Tips

Some women:
A. Panic about packing.
B. Overpack.
C. Underpack.
D. Love to pack.

Which one are you?
Me… I’m a D ALL the way. I actually get excited about creating lots of outfits with very few clothes.
I LOVE it!

I thrive on packing toiletries and makeup in travel-size containers and only taking what I need.

Here are all the clothes I packed for a four-day trip to Barbados back in March.
2 dresses
3 tops
3 pants
3 pairs of sandals
1 pair of sneakers
2 bathing suits
2 coverups
1 beach bag
1 handbag
1 very lightweight scarf that matched everything.

This all gave me enough options for an even longer trip.

Packing Tips. Here’s what to keep in mind when you pack:

Each top will go with either the tan or white pants.
Each pair of shoes worked with all of my dress and pants outfits.
My red-thong sandals were also for the pool, beach, and as slippers.

I added the white pants as a just-in-case piece, and the black pants and the red-striped top were what I wore on the plane.

To get it all in my bag with plenty of extra room for toiletries and my I can’t travel without brush-hairdryer, I used a compression bag gadget, and it was fantastic. It gave me double the space on one side of my carry-on.

Look how the compression bag shrunk my clothes, and no, it didn’t cause wrinkles.
My next trip is coming up soon. Ten days in two countries with only a carry-on. 😳

This is a once-in-a-lifetime trip. I’ll be taking my daughter and 2 ½ year old granddaughter to Berlin, where my mother was born.
Viewing a 1949 film she starred in at The Museum for Film and Television, and walking the streets where she once walked.
This is my second trip to Berlin, and I am so excited to share it with my girls and get to speak German again. It’s been a long time.
